Sustainability over profit?

Yes.

It seems clear that what once was called a trend, today is a baseline for decisions.

Businesses paying attention to the world and to the new voices of this world will listen.

Yet, I find that most people still believe that sustainability is associated with “green packaging” or recycling.

That’s not a complete version of Sustainability.

Smurfit Kappa & Financial Times worked together on a great report to answer some of the most pressing questions when it comes to sustainability (see comments for the link).

I believe that Sustainability implies a systemic approach to the business.

It’s a special pair lenses applied to all areas, because we now understand that creating a sustainable world involves not only recycling, but changing the mentality of what is important.

It will grow its roots into companies culture, values and decisions.

Sustainability touches the entire chain of production, packaging, logistics, sales, marketing. All of it.

Hello dear L&D, HR, Change Managers, Business Consultants, Marketing, Sales and Accounting…

Hello all people, Sustainability is for you too.

Not only for generations to come, but your work right now.

We need synergy between all parts and we need more organisations showing what they are doing, how they are doing and why.

The more stories of sustainability journeys and successful sustainable businesses we see, more people will learn and do better themselves.
